Cape George Colony Club

Cape George Parks

We have a number of community parks and footpaths which are shown on the maps in Section 4 and we are always looking for ways to improve them. Generally, overseeing parks and trails is done by the Environmental Committee, but construction and maintenance is done by volunteer work parties and, in some cases, by individual members. Our policy in park and trail areas is to preserve all natural growth of any kind as required by the Covenants.

The Ravine Trail has received a lot of attention. It provides a quiet secluded walk in a beautiful setting.

Parks at Cape George

Woodland Trail: In the Colony across from the barn at the entrance, through the forest.

Victoria Loop: In the Colony from Marina Drive up the hill to Victoria Loop.

Ravine Trail: In the Village from Marine View Place to the beach with side connection to Huckleberry.

Community Center: The area just north of the Clubhouse offers great recreational opportunities.  It fronts on the beach, has horseshoe pits, picnic shelter and tables, barbecue pit, children play area, and basketball hoop.  Many Club events are held here.

Memorial Park: This park sits at the beach access and provides great views and seclusion. Picnic tables are available here. A gazebo and picnic tables are available.

Cedar Park: This park offers a quiet rest stop or picnic area in the dense shade of cedar trees.

Walking Trails: In addition to the beach, approximately 3 miles of trails are maintained by the Environmental Committee and Cape George staff.
